Pacquiao-Cotto Prediction

For the much anticipated fight of the year between two of the best boxers in the world and after watcher several of their fights I would like to state my prediction of the outcome of the FirePower battle. I think that Manny will start strong and will not let Cotto to have the confidence from start to finish, Manny will use his lateral movements and will attact Miguel Cotto in different angles while Cotto will try to hit Pacquiao with a big left hook to the body but I think that Manny will evade most of the punches of Cotto while tagging Cotto with left and right combinations. I think that Cotto will have his moments by hitting pacquiao with strong punches that can earn him some rounds but I think that Pacquiao will land more punches that Cotto that can make Cotto's face a bloddy mess. So I think that Manny Pacquiao will win the fight via unanimous decision because I think that Cotto has a very good chin that can withstand the punishment taken from the pacman. Manny may Knockdown Cotto but its hard to see Cotto lying on the floor more that 9 seconds. If a knockout would come it could come from stoppage of the referee or from Miguel's corner. I am not also counting out a big punch of Cotto that can rock and put down Manny but because of Manny's speed, I can see it a big unanimous win for the pride of the Philippines.

Diaz wins against Chavez

Former lightweight world champions, David Diaz (35-2-1, 17 KOs) won a majority decision over Jesus Chavez (44-6, 30 KOs). Diaz fighting for the first time since losing his WBC belt to Manny Pacquiao 15 months ago while Chavez was returning after a seventh round TKO loss to Michael Katsidis in April. It was a very exciting fight from start to finish with the fighters multiple punches in the center of the ring. Diaz seemed a little accurate and busier won 97-93, 96-94 on two cards. The third card was 95-95.

Klitschko wins vs Arreola

Klitschko TKOs Arreola

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (38-2, 37 KOs) successfully defended his world via tenth round TKO against previously undefeated contender Cristobal Arreola (27-1, 24 KOs). Klitschko was able to land punches at a distance against the aggressive but shorter Arreola, who made Vitali work very hard throughout the fight. The fight got more one-sided as the rounds progressed when Vitali continously connected with long shots as referee Jon Schorle finally stopped the fight at the end of round ten.

Mayweather - Marquez post fight analysis..

Floyd Mayweather proves that he is back with a very dominating passion against a very skilled fighter in Juan Manuel Marquez. Before the fight began, I predicted that PBF would win but in a close contest but PBF use his size, speed, skill and other advantages in order to make Marquez look like a class B fighter. It just proves that not all boxers can just go up in weight and out speed the taller guy just like pacman. JMM just could not hit the very elusive defence of Mayweather, he use everything on his arsenal but just cannot reach mayweather while PBF almost can hit Marquez at will.

I think that JMM should go back to 135 lbs to fight at least 2 more fight if he still wins and i think that PBF should fight Shane Mosley before the year ends or he can wait for the winner of the Pacquiao-Cotto fight. Marquez was just out classed by Mayweather and I wish both figthers the best.

Mayweather vs Marquez Predictions

The showdown between Mayweather (39-0, 25 KO's) and Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KO's) might be one of the most anticipated bouts this year and I would like state my predictions about this mega fight.

I think that in the early round both fighter would study each others moves and we might see the two waiting for each other for the first 3 rounds but as the fight goes on, both fighters will be engaging because they need to put on some rounds to their name after the slow start... So I think it will go the distance but the question is "Who win the most rounds?" I think that mayweather will use his height and reach advantage to fill up the points but marquez may still give him some problems if they engage because even Marquez is a counter puncher he can still brawl with the best brawlers out there, but I think that mayweather is too smart to stay close to Marquez and exchange punch for punch. If Marquez can successfully force a close boxing he might get some rounds but I can see it being a CONTROVERSIAL split decision victory for Mayweather.

Cotto vs Clottey Analysis

Miguel Cotto wins over Joshua Clottey by a split decision which I predicted that Cotto would easily defeat Clottey by a late round stoppage but I was wrong and I personally think that Clottey won by one to 3 rounds. Clottey just did not do enough to convince the two judges maybe because Cotto outworks him in some rounds and he is just standing and not moving at some point of the fight. But I think Clottey did a good job especially in the second half of the fight where he connects punches like a 1-2 combinations and he really put some pressure to Cotto.

Like some boxing fans I would like to see a rematch between the two fighters but I think Bob Arum would like to put Cotto against Pacquaio so everybody might just forget a rematch between Cotto and Clottey. I think that the Pacman who fight Hatton would easily defeat the Cotto today but we’ll never know because Pacman is not Clottey and vise versa.

Cotto vs Clottey Prediction

For the upcoming fight between Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey I would like to state my prediction for this fight. I think both fighters have good defense but I think that Cotto is much faster that Clottey and that Cotto is a good counter puncher and body puncher that might hurt Clottey in the later rounds. In the first few rounds it could be a tight one but as rounds pass by, the body punches of Cotto to Clottey might make the difference and would make clottey go down in the later rounds. So I think that Cotto would finish off Clottey in 8-10 rounds.
